This
innovative accessory product provides step-action involvement and realism
for group fitness programs using the globally popular Nintendo Wii®
Fitness Plus system.
The Active Practice / Fitness Board is NOT an electronic
device, and has no interraction with the Wii console. It is a place-holder,
low impact step surface accessory for those who want to follow the action
in a class environment using the Wii®
Fitness Plus as "digital fitness trainer".
Using the new Active Practice Board - whole fitness classes can now "follow
the Wii Trainer" step-by-step with the Wii Fit's Yoga, Aerobics and
Strength Training programs. These newly designed Active Practice Boards
(patent pending) are used as low-impact step-surfaces and "place-holders"
during Wii Fit exercises.
One person designated "Fitness Trainer" controls the class action
with the system's hand held "Wii-mote", and provides live action
step timing using the trainer's Wii balance board. Any number of fitness
class participants may join in and follow the live or the Wii trainer
using the Active Practice Board
for step-action realism, stay in place and get an equally effective workout
at the same time.
The Wii®
Fitness product, as a structured fitness "digital trainer" system,
is an excellent addition to any school's PE curriculum. There's just never
been a way to use it and engage multiple students at the same time, until
now. First tested and approved at South Elementary School, Grandville,
Michigan by Mr. Tim Arends PE administrator, who also is helping develop
the first Wii Fitness Class Program Guidelines For Schools.

PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate release Monday 03/16/09
GRANDVILLE, MICHIGAN SOUTH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
1ST IN NATION TO OFFER FULL-CLASS WII FIT PROGRAM
Dateline March 16th, 2009
A new product and program using the Nintendo Wii Fit will soon be making
new inroads with schools as the first multiple-participant, whole-class,
whole school fitness regimen in a new fitness program in use at South
Elementary School in Grandville, Michigan.
Principal Chuck Schultz and Physical Education teacher Tim Arends today
accepted a complete Wii Fitness system and 30 new “Active Practice Board”
(assigned product name) from the inventor, Mr. Jeffrey Kusmierz, to test
and validate the innovative Active Practice Board and the new fitness
program’s value. The objective of this new accessory and program is to
more fully interest and engage all students in fitness and regular exercise
using a very popular entertainment system that has enormous impact capability
on our children’s health, both mental and physical.
Up to now, Wii Fit has basically been a one-person fitness activity. Mr.
Kusmierz, president of Active Plastics, Inc. in Caledonia, Michigan, has
solved the problem of engaging multiple participants for the very popular
Nintendo Wii Fit, by creating and manufacturing a lightweight, anti-skid
fitness board accessory for use with the Wii Fit.
The Practice Board is not electronic and isn’t connected to the Wii console—it’s
purpose is to serve as a low-impact step surface and place holder for
Wii Fit exercise activity. Multiple students are fully engaged in the
Wii Fitness yoga, aerobics and strength training activities using the
Active Practice Board to “practice” and match trainer movements on the
functional Wii Fitness Balance Board. Using display style video projectors,
all students can easily see the on-screen guidance of the Wii Fitness
“trainer”.
Active Plastics, inc. is a veteran and family owned small business established
in 1999 in the custom acrylics fabrication market. The innovative Active
Practice Board (assigned trademark name) is manufactured here exclusively
in West Michigan.
